Death Cross Warning

50 MA crossed below 200 MA, price not far below 200 MA.

A death cross is the moment the 50-day average falls below the 200-day, the reverse of a golden cross. Traders read it as the long-term trend turning down, and some systematic funds cut exposure on it. This screen finds stocks in that state still within 10% of their 200-day average.

The signal lags. Many death crosses arrive after most of the fall, and the stock recovers soon after.
